HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP. The “s” stands for secure, meaning data sent between your website and visitors is encrypted.

Visitors see a padlock icon in their browser. It protects login details, payment info, and personal data from hackers. 

Why does it matter?

Google favours HTTPS sites in search rankings. Visitors are more likely to trust your site if it’s secure.
