With a rapidly aging website, Discovery Knitting came to us to refocus their offering, simplify the buying journey for their clients, and revamp their brand in the mix.

As one of the UK’s only remaining onshore jersey knitters, we drew from their heritage, modernised their brand and delivered a super fast website which had sales rolling through right from go-live.

The challenge:

Discovery Knitting, a long-established jersey knitting mill, were struggling with a legacy website that was no longer fit for purpose.
The platform was dated, difficult to manage, and lacked the flexibility required for the nuances of selling fabric online – particularly when it came to handling variable lengths, trade orders, and custom requests.
In addition, limited payment options and an unintuitive checkout experience were contributing to friction in the customer journey and impacting sales.

The solution:

We undertook a complete rebrand and digital rebuild from the ground up. This included designing a new visual identity that better reflected Discovery Knitting’s craftsmanship, UK heritage, and commitment to quality.
From a UX perspective, we restructured the site architecture and product filtering to accommodate the unique complexities of fabric sales, making it easier for users to browse, compare, and purchase.
On the technical side, we implemented a fully custom Woocommerce solution, integrating Klarna and Stripe to offer more flexible payment options for both retail and trade customers.
The checkout process was also streamlined to reduce friction and improve conversions, while maintaining all necessary custom logic behind the scenes.
